Thanks for the crits. :)

For the most part i agree with you on the guy pic. I kept it close to the reference but wanted something a little more unique. I definitely have trouble with faces - hopefully I am get better with each effort. :)

The first pic will be a print sold locally. It will be editioned and the profits will go to help the Kelowna community recover from the fires. It wont be much, but every bit helps. ;)

Wow steeldolphin... Amazing color and rendering!

That last one... When I saw it as your avatar at P.P., I thought it was a photo. You really got the lighting down perfect, IMO!

Given the gravity of the fire situation, I don't think the mood of the water bomber painting is appropriate. Its almost happy, fluffy clouds and sun, etc... Where is the tension? You could strengthen the painting by introducing the imminent danger of the fire, some elements to highten the drama.

Very nice indeed!

I agree with ColdCutPi about the first pic.

All are very well rendered though.

Although I see your point, my intention was different from the outset, as I wanted to convey a lighter feel one that shows the bomber more in a heroic fashion - highlighting the plane more than the fire itself. There are enough photos and video clips showing the drama and intensity of the fire itself.

ah yes the wasp pic series ...excellent! it showed me how much little hairs and little specular highlights can attract the viewers eye and make them believe the pic is real even though some other section of the painting has large areas without tons of detail in them. and just a question how did you make the copy of the bee in the background look like inlarged print.
thumbs up

The bg wasp is merely a halftone version of the hand painted version...yay for Photoshop filters. ;)
