Hey here are my flats for a color-off. But I'm really looking for crits on my whole style. Any comments?
You can see other examples of my junk at spiraleye.deviantart.com (http://spiraleye.deviantart.com)
Maybe this image will work instead.

Well, I don't know what happened to the pic, but, I'm asking if people will browse through my work and say, after looking at a bunch of the pieces--dude you need to work on your values, or whatever. That's all.

Well, deviant used to let me link. Anyhow, here's a copy of the pic from comicsportfolio.com.
But a bunch of my work is still on deviant.

The mountains (factory, pillars, brown things) in the background look really flat. Same with the sky. The reflection on the water is just amazing though. If the whole piece was like that, It would look very good! :chug:
Otherwise, I like the general idea. It looks pretty neat.
Don't have time to click on the link (I'm at school ;)), but I will try and check it out later.

Cool, mos--yeah those colors are flat. If you can browse my other junk and give me feedback that'd be cool.

I just had the chance today to begin looking through that link, and I stumbled upon the revised version of this, it looks much better! You fixed all the problems with it, and it turned out awesome. The only problem I have now with it is that one cloud in the middle of it all, it just looks so weird that way. Otherwise it looks great.
I'll try and post some comments on there, if you want me to.

did the guys over at PJ piss you off so badly you came here? Heh.. Thats sorta like why im here. That and nobody comments on my work there. I mean sure there are a few.. but also the artwork here is better. Well at least i find more inspiration here. The water looks really cool. Not sure if I like the frog tho. The colors comming out of the lines isnt my type of thing.. but others may like it. It really is hard to comment on style on a pic that isnt finished too. As well as on colors.

no, I was here before I was at PJ. I'm leaving all the online forums because I'm just tired of all the foulness there, here. Wherever. Too much nudity, language. I've reached my limit.
By the way, I'm disappointed to hear you chose to compromise your standards for a hobby.

ummm i didnt.. my standards are perfectly fine with the nudity thing.. because a figure drawing class is how i will learn. It is like a doctor taking a class to learn the body. We all have to learn these things. you just have to go in with the right mind and not think of it as dirty. think of it as a learning experience. it really goes with maturity. My parents understand and they totally agree too. Nudity as in pornagraphy is immoral (for my standards) but nudity as in learning how to improve the skills god has given me is a lesson in getting better.

It's also fine to use yourself as a model, but what about learning to draw the opposite sex?

sigh... Good thing all my hobbies are conflicting with my religion... Art world, video game world, aaarrgghh!
You were obviously struggling with the issue here. Nudity is necessary for some things. . . like procreation and medicine. But we're not doctors here.
My rationale: If everyone understood the importance of chastity and modesty in dress, would there ever be a life drawing class? Or in other words, if everyone was a Mormon, would you ever have a naked model? No.
Would you ever have surgery? Of course.

It's one thing to practice and devote yourself to a religious belief. It is another thing to try and force that upon others by dictating what you believe to be right and wrong. Thump your bible elsewhere.
Disclosure: I have zero problem with any religion. What I have a problem with is condascension.

Kimchee--ain't dumping my beliefs on anyone. You missed the first conversation. Butt out. and goodbye. Anyways, I've wasted enough time. I wish none ill will.
