I'm looking for a collection of animation/cartoon sound FX.

Preferably either copyright free or available for use with non-commercial animation projects and shorts. I'm hoping to find something like a collection of sounds from old Warner Bros. cartoons or the myriad of sounds used in Hanna-Barbera cartoons. Think Raymond Scott orchestra. :D

You know... the boinks, bleeps, doinks, crashes and ahhhh-ooooga's used in classic style cartoons. Any links or insight would be much appreciated.

There are loads and loads of CD compilations for this very purpose! You can buy em for a couple of dollars - http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw/103-0659466-3283068?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=cartoon+sound+effects&x=0&y=0
or alternatively rent them from your local library or the media section of your college (assuming you are an animation student). Hope this helps somewhat ;)

Last time I was looking for some, I try these websites: http://www.findsounds.com/ and http://www.flashkit.com.

There are a lot of sites, considering the popularity of flash for creating web animations. So try checking websites focusing on flash, you might find more than what you need :)
