Hi there! Just wanted to show some of my first forays into concept work. Done in Painter, about half hour to an hour each. C&C welcome! :)

Sorry if the images are too big!

Your inking style is intriguing. (I wonder if I spelled that correctly.) Anyway, I am a big fan of washing but the top two pictures look like you are washing to hide something. Like...maybe...are you having problems drawing feet? The reason I say that is because I have done the exact same thing and now that is my first response when I see something like this.

Overall I really like the contrast! Thank the Gods for Painter, otherwise you would be investing a small fortune in ink. :)

Hi van, thanks for your reply. Hiding something? Actually, I wasn't ... I thought it was just an effect that would be nice for the images, so it was deliberately done. :D

And you're right ... thank goodness for Painter! :chug:

Nice work Kim. I especially like the detail on the coat and the cane in the first, and the pose/perspective of the third. I don't particularly like the second...probably because my eye is immediately drawn to the face and it looks simple and flat compared to the rest of the figure. Also I think the fade to grey looks out of place with all the stark contrast...either greys all over or none at all would look better in my opinion. But for your "first forays" (really?) they look stupendous.

Hey Jeff, thank you for your reply. :) Your comments are appreciated ... I did deliberately make the face of the second concept flat that way, but perhaps it's a little too flat, eh? Yeah, they're my very first b&w full figure concept stuff ... I've only ever drawn two whole figure images before these. Owch. :P

It is so nice to run across something that puts a smile on your face. :) I love the first two. The woman seems somehow a little awkward, or "less done" but the first guy is incredibly cool. Love the designs on the coat.
