I will post some of my stuf that i did for a war hammer painting comp.

I used to play a lot of Warhammer Fantasy RPG both as an game master and gamer. As for armies. My collection consised of only few skaven miniatures. I quickly stopped collecting beacause I realised it's too expensive hobby for me :).

Way too expensive. In fact, a local gaming store where I live went out of business because they bought a huge amount of Warhammer figures and couldn't sell them.

Warhammer is expencive but ther are ways to lower the cost!
The first modle set that I bought was 35$ca it was not to expencive, It consisted of 8 troops. I whent to the local craft/modelshop and bought something simular to green stuff called fimo/sculpy 2, 500gram pack for 1.25$ I coated all the pieces in the putty and than carefully removed it leaving a indent/mold of the piece. 1 hour later I had a mold of every piece in the box. I let it dry over nite than lubricated the molds in cooking oil. I took more putty and put some in both sides of the mold. Carefully pulling the mold apart the putty came out smooth because of the oil I inspected the piece care fully and it was perfect.

It might take a wile but in the end it is so worth it !

Cost:

6.25 $ ca sculpy2/ 2.5 pounds = 150 eldar guardiens !
6 hours of time

Not the game just the painting. ;) I try to be creative and desine consepts of new models to improve on my art! I sculpt my own models, and will post once I get a new camera.

Some of the parts in the sets are harder to clone than others and some are imposible! does any one know of a clay that is liquid for 24 hours than turns solid ? I need to pour mold some of the peices for the eldar falcon so this is why i ask. :lounge:

My little bro plays 40k orks, so for holidays or his birthday, I'd usually scrap together some sort of orky invention out of plastic pieces, old toys, and super glue. Super fun to do! like legos that you cut up yourself. If I go visit my family one of these days, I'll take some pics. Thanks for the mold idea Collin. is plaster of Paris liquid enough for what you want? you'd have to coat it with some kind of polymer for longevity though.

I never played but for about fours years straight I painted obsessively. I won a few awards which was cool. I'd never have even cared about art without them. They entirely changed my life...

Todays GW art is top notch - both the 'Eavy Metal models and the 2D work they do. One of my most important inspirations, some years ago all I ever drew was warhammer fan art.

I guess cloning them is fine as long as you're not selling anything. That'd be pretty illegal.

Yea im not into selling stuff that mutch ant to sell would just be a waste of my honor! i love to draw all the different kinds of wh40k especialy tyranids. there soo cool ! post some of your stuff. I cant because i dont have a scanner or cammera.

Verry nice! Thats great work I would like to see more of that. :^^:
One crit... I think you need more colour. I now thats the look you are going for but if you added some dark red it would lite it up a little so you can truly apreciate the lite/dark contrast and the ausome detalinng you did. maby if you decide to paint the other one you could try it out.:rendered:

Yah, The bases I made. I actually sold the inquisitor on ebay and I don't paint minis anymore. I should though. They were really fun and challenging.
