Seeing as this seems to be the best way to introduce myself round here i figured i'd best start one of these sketchbooks.
Little background, basically i've started drawing again after a 5 year hiatus (ergo. since i left school) and it's a fun ride trying to relearn everything i've forgotten. Critique away as it's why i'm here.

Nice works you got going. First off I would say is to do some portraits using lines to make sure everything is in place then do some anatomy studies to help make your chararcter more belivable. Good luck.

Hey, top pic is a good one anatomy on the hands is a little wrong, the feet are good. it's a hard thing to get tho. hair doesn't seem bad. the way you constructed the picture in the pic on the left is great! :D Good laugh at the storm tropper too, keep it up! :D

Hands are probably the one thing i find the hardest, strange seeing as i have two sitting in front of me whilst i draw. Any recommendations on a decent anatomy text?

I can't comment, hands have kind of come naturaly to me, i used to use tube and balls, tubes for the main finger and balls for nuckles obviously. try drawing round you hand and segment it making sure ur segmenst stay in the lines of your own hand but fill it out enough so you can see the construct. also take a look arround at some of the sketch books here some of these people may or may not use the same idea, i found remmy's sketch book rather helpfull as his hands are almost if not are anatomicly correct.
