I've been trolling the forums for some time now and I've been doing sketches on the side.
Getting brave in building a sketchbook to start posting but today I made my
first attempt at watercoloring and my results were quite dissapointing.
I was having a very difficult time getting vibrancy and extreme contrasts of color on what I was trying to do :wtf:
After several thwarted efforts I abondoned watercoloring and decided to move on to my pastel set and as I was I got this crazy idea to use my watercolor brushes with a bit of dampness to watercolor my pastels.
To me, the results were actually quite stunning. I found that it gave me the watercolor feel I was looking for as well I got the extreme contrasts of color and vibrancy without losing its watercolor feel.
I guess overall, being new to watercoloring and going beyond general pencil illustrations and sketches, has anyone else done this? and if so, what problems did you run into?
Would greatly appreciate your feedback.
