alright, so i have this graphire three that ive been sitting on for about a year or so, and i have painter 9 and photoshop cs3... but i have no clue how to put all of these together to make something wonderful. im good with traditional media because its kind of obvious what to do to get a certain look. but with painter and photoshop, i find myself wasting countless hours trying to figure out how to blend in photoshop and how to get the effect this person uses in their work: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=102970
i really like that digital but yet realistic feel, but im a complete noob at both programs... if anyone can help that would be wonderful. thanks.

I'd check out the threads in Painter and Photoshop under Education & Learning. There are some really awesome general tutorial threads there that should help. :]

Whatever you know about traditional media can transfer to digital in a way. It takes practice to develop a digital "style".

You might want to try the video tut by Jason Chan at the top of this page. It's worth the 10 bucks.

i might try the jason chan video, i got the shawn barber dvd and i really liked that, it was really helpful. the main thing i wanna know how to do is blend in photoshop... in painter its alot more like traditional media, so i didnt have a hard time figuring it out, but photoshop is i guess a lil bit weird to me, especial cs3, they changed the layout a bit i think. basically i dont like the look of multi tone pictures, i like it when they blend good. so i think the real question is, is there a good blending tool in photoshop or do i just have to use painter?
