Some of these portraits are looking good. But they need refinement. Keep going figure drawings. Know the human body by heart. I am working on this myself and it's amazing to watch yourself grow (much faster than you think).

Keep drawing. Draw everyday! Do anatomical studies (the George Bridgman studies are the most accessible, to my knowledge)!

Rock on dude!

Agreed with Peetaer, some of the studies ( like the last old lady ) look pretty convincing.
You've made quite a start, seems like you're really working on it, keep this up! There are quite a few threads dedicated to practicing on many subjects and levels, I'd really recommend it.

Keep at it!

A good start man, i really like the acrylic.

I would advise you to be a bit more careful with the shading in your figure drawings.

Always try to follow the shapes of the body, otherwise you flatten the drawing more than without shading. A good exercise for that is to just shade with wide spaced hatching. Its a great way to get used to follow the various planes of the body...in some of your drawings you did it pretty good , in others it looks a bit overloaded...

Keep it up
Figure studies for president :)

Thanks for the comments. I'll kepp your advice in mind and try to apply it in my next work.
Here are two older paintings. I still like them and would like it to read some thoughts about them.

Your painting looks nice. For your pencil drawings try and refine them by getting cleaner lines and smoother strokes.
Some of the portraits look great, especially the old woman.
Keep it up!

Can you comment on my Sketchbook too? Link is in signature. Thanks :D

im not happy with the likeness. what do you think i can do to make it look more like the original :)? i thought i should paint the nose a bit longer and make less shadow between the eyes. and maybe less chin ?
so i would be happy to read some advices.
