Oh yeah, I just found some doodles in my art folder that I can stick on here.

Some are VERY VERY old, but not this one. Its just a few months old, I was fooling around in photoshop just doodle sketching noses, eyes and all that.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v288/SSChiChi/facialdoodles.jpg

This is a wip of my Green Basilisk... I doubt I'll ever finish it though because I started on it a few months back and I forgot about it.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v288/SSChiChi/Emeraldwipla.jpg

This was the sketch that went with the oil painting I did last year.
Its a self-portrait when I was young.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v288/SSChiChi/selfportraityoungme.jpg

EDIT: This is what I did in my Art 1 class my freshman year of Highschool. We all had to do this assignment but with different objects and desings:

EDIT 2: This is a blueprint for my clown painting I did awhile back:

I seriously need to do some human figure sketches.
But until then I suppose I can post some more things up that has been lurking in my sketchbook for God only knows how long. xD

Some are old and I know I can do better now. :)

Although I want to include this:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v288/SSChiChi/regalityfinal.jpg

These two are new.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v288/SSChiChi/regalityinked.jpg
This was just a brief sketch of how my painting might look, and it doesn't look exactly like me I was just trying to get it all down.
I inked it in photoshop to bring out the lines more since they were so dull when scanned in:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v288/SSChiChi/clownheadshot001.jpg
The face on my painting looks nothing like that, lol. xD

Okay, here are some old things:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v288/SSChiChi/mikayla.jpg
Thats my niece Mikayla. ^

Deer.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v288/SSChiChi/rockclimberwip.jpg
Some random ad in a magazine of a rock climber dude that I never finished.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v288/SSChiChi/queenflyingfin2.jpg
A Magivolve avatar of myself floating about Magi. I think this is a year old or so...

Another avatar picture. I don't do anime.

And that's it for now. :^^:

Hay Queen great to see you,v started a sketchbook.

Some of these are quite cool, and all have a great sense of style.
You have a great imagination, and it shows in your work, but some of your characters look a bit stif, so keep drawing/painting from life.

You say that you need to do some human figure sketches, well I'd say maybe sketching some poses from this site.http://www.posemaniacs.com/blog/pose/

Please keep drawing and posting!

Thank you so much!
Yeah, I do need to work on that.

Wow, that's a really neat site.
You can even turn the models around. O.O

I'll definitely start doing some sketching from that site, thank you. :D

And I'll update frequently.

You shouldn't be sorry that your art isn't as good as you'd want it to be. Instead be glad about how much there is to learn! And I EXPECT you to be practicing more, anything else would be a big mistake. With determination and hard work you can go far. What I notice in your work is that you are very brave. You attempt to do some things I'm far too scared of screwing up to do myself. This is a really good thing, always push yourself, and when you notice you can't go further because you can't draw this or that, practice it until you can.

Queen Nehalania
November 28th, 2007, 10:22 AM
Thank you.

You're right, I am happy to learn as much as I can.
I've been doing a lot of reading on art techniques.
I guess sometimes I just get a bit self-conscious with my art.

Thank you for the compliment, I like doing things that are a bit different.
And thank you for the advice. It's very uplifting. :^^:

Hey everyone, I did a new art piece today.
249532

I'm soooo glad I finally figured out how to do attachments. xD

Anyways I am VERY happy with this piece, I think it's my best sketch yet!
I got the reference from an article in a magazine that I found lying around in art class today and I finished the sketch when I got home.
I hope you all like.

EDIT: For the love of God I cannot figure out how to get this picture beside the thread.
You know the little thumbnail that shows beside the thread when you are looking at the list of all the sketchbooks.

I tried 2 different ways of attaching, by using the paper clip and first uploading it, then I clicked on the earth and put in the attachment. It showed the thumbnail in the post but not out beside my thread. Then I cut that, and clicked on the down arrow paperclip and put in the attach and now it looks regular. But still no picture outside my thread. What am I doing wrong?

Hello again!
These are my newest figure sketches. Well the first one (the little girl) is more detailed, but the one at the bottom is a figure sketch.
I think I'm doing much better now that I've gotten so much helpful advice.
:bashful:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v288/SSChiChi/figuresketch1.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v288/SSChiChi/figuresketch2.jpg
This one was done with a conte pencil and so I put some tracing paper over it so it won't smudge.

Anyways, these were done some yesterday, and today.

Thanks so much! :D

I'm hoping to get done with this big piece of paper of different drawings on it.
It's still in my art class and I'm about finished with it.
I can't wait to scan it in and put it on here.

My step-dad is building me this amazing easel and I'm waiting for it to get done to start back to work on my painting.

Hopefully I'll get back to working on my concentration. xD
I just figured I needed lots of practice. :)

Gosh, it's been so long since I last updated. xD

I have a piece that I completed during art class a few weeks ago, and the most recent one is still in the art room.

I took a picture of this one today because it's so big that it can't go through the scanner unless I did it in sections... I may later on, but I took a picture for now.

Thanks!
I have some more work that I scanned in/took a picture of, but I couldn't piece one of them together in photoshop right.
Because I had to scan it in 2 parts since it was big.
I was trying to get the alignment right and I just couldn't do it to save my life.
I was able to do it for both regality pictures, but I forgot how to now.

Oh well here's one of the pictures I taken of it. Others are in the post below this one.

This is a cutesy lil card that I did for my boyfriend today. For V-day I'm going to stick it in the store bought card that I got him. =)

I was messing around with my new acrylic ink set today and I decided to add some watercolor to it as well.

BIG UPDATE!

I completed this around last week and it was done completely in prisma color pencil. By the way, yes that is the same woman on the other paper that has a lot of people on it. I have fun drawing her for some reason.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v288/SSChiChi/prismalady.jpg

I did this first apple drawing a few days after my birthday which was the 18th of this month and it was done completely in my new NUPastels!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v288/SSChiChi/nupastelapple.jpg

This next apple drawing was done in class with prisma color pencil. It was finished last week.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v288/SSChiChi/prismaapplestilllife.jpg

This was done in charcoal and I tinker around with it every once and awhile so it's not exactly complete. I still haven't decided if I'll draw the face in or not.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v288/SSChiChi/charcoalmodel.jpg

I completed this 2 days ago.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v288/SSChiChi/pencilladydetail.jpg

This was a quick figure sketch that I did in class today.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v288/SSChiChi/pencilfiguredrawing.jpg

I did this quick sketch when I was sitting at this new restaurant called the Mediterranean Village. This is what I was looking at forward and to the left. I didn't have too much time to put in that much detail or straighten my lines up perfectly. xD Mom kept telling me to eat.

Oh and any C&C are welcomed and respected. It gets very lonely in here so please do leave a comment.

Hey nice start , its great your are making notes when you are doing anatomical studies one thing i have found that helps it break things down into stages if your are learning basic figure measurements ie. leg is 4 heads hips is 1 head blah blah, don't spend 3 hours on it try and get a quick method. I suggest using a bit of thick chalk/charcoal and make a suggestive mark for the appropriate length for each section and it should only take 20- 30 secs for a whole figure do it stack of times until you can easily think of a section in your head and know its length. Any way just a suggestion i hope it goes well for you snd keep up the top effort!!.

I will be sure to update either tonight or tomorrow. I have lots to show! :D

And thank you for the advice! I love being able to know measurements and such.

I'm back. I know it's been forever, but as I promised here's an update.
FINALLY AP art tests (the portfolio) is over and I can now focus on some studies. Had to make sure I got everything done for my concentration and all.

OKay, I didn't realize how horrible I scanned these in, so I will try and get better pics, sometimes my scanner can kinda mess with me too.

Here's some things that I have so far, We'll start with sketchbook stuff:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v288/SSChiChi/modelsketch1.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v288/SSChiChi/modelsketch2.jpg
Most of these went in my Breadth portfolio section.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v288/SSChiChi/scan0001.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v288/SSChiChi/purplemodel.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v288/SSChiChi/ladybythesidewalk.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v288/SSChiChi/quicksketch-1.jpg

For the one below, I was bored sitting in my brothers car waiting on the food to arrive and so I sketched my shoe.
Didn't get too many details in because we had to leave and I can't draw while driving, I have major motion sickness problems.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v288/SSChiChi/shoes.jpg

And when I got tired of drawing people I focused on Reptiles and Amphibians which are the joy of my life. I have 3 lizards, one of them is on this page. It's the unfinished one. xD I didn't finish Merlin (my Water Dragon) you can tell which one it is because it has barely any details whatsoever. xD
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v288/SSChiChi/lizardsprofile-1.jpg

And I did this one while sitting in my boyfriends truck while he was putting gas in. I pulled down the sun visor thing that has a mirror attached to it and drew my eye really quick. xD
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v288/SSChiChi/myeye-1.jpg

In next post I'll post some more.

Crap! Due to the fact that a malfunction in my cameras usb cable occured I can't take pics of the other stuff. I can scan in some things tomorrow.

Here is the rest!

This is the one that I am most proud of! It's a mixed media with ink and water color.
First shot:

Detail of face:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v288/SSChiChi/HPIM2157a.jpg

Another shot:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v288/SSChiChi/HPIM2172.jpg
This piece was included in my AP art quality portfolio.

As for the next few:
This is the Batik I made in art class. After it was dye'd and waxed I put acrylic paint and prisma color marker on it for added affect. This was the first Batik I ever made and its kinda crazy...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v288/SSChiChi/HPIM2188.jpg
Detail of cloud:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v288/SSChiChi/HPIM2186.jpg

And this is just a charcoal drawing I did.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v288/SSChiChi/HPIM2178.jpg

I can scan in more later. As for the ones that I'd rather take a picture for I can wait on that till I get this problem fixed. And for some of my pieces they are sent away for ap portfolio testing. I wanted to scan or take a picture of Jestermoon, but its not with me now.

This'll have to do for now. Will update again much sooner.

PLEASE feel free to comment & critique, its so lonely in here.

You have a very good start here. I make this suggestion to anyone learning the human form. Get a sketch book and use it only for figure study. Go to a park, downtown, bus stop...anywhere with a lot of people and make quick gesture drawings. This enables you to see how people move and sit, what their bodies are doing as they perform these movements. You'll be surprised at how quickly the book fills up and before you know it, you will have captured hundreds of figures with very few lines;) keep it up!

@ JailHouseRock: Aww! Yay I got a fan!

Thank you and I'm glad to see you again. I have graduated high school on June 7th and I am hoping to go into the graphic design program at my community college for 2 years and transfer for NC School of the Arts.

@ RoboBobo: Thank you for the wonderful suggestion. :D
I have often thought of going out and drawing people from life.
I live in a small town so we don't have very good parks or downtown train stops. xD
Although I can make-do in a restaurant or in the food cort section of the mall that I love going too. I kinda get nervous to think about what would happen if someone caught me drawing them. I don't do well socially sometimes and I'd be afraid they'd want me to stop drawing them. >.<
But I won't try and let that stop me because I am really wanting to draw from life and I hope to start soon. It would be a great help and wonderful learning experience. =D

Hey good stuff seeing progress from the initial post. Just watch the proportions a bit. on that loomis study you should check that the waist is at least similar the front seems a little too skinny and the back just a tad wide. don't be afraid to draw in reference lines then you can seewhat lines up with what. keep up the good work.

As Robobobo says, drawing from life is the best thing you can do. Don't be afraid to just sit there and draw people, I find that most of the time they'll ignore you. However that's here in the UK, dunno about the US population. If anything they'll be a confidence booster.

Try drawing buildings and anything with deep perspective as well as this will train you to look at your images and understand creating space [I'm no teacher so not very good at explaining these things].

You excel in your use of colour and drawing, but drawing from life will teach you a lot more than photos can.

Keep going.
