but id like to get some crits on it. It's my first foray into the whole painterly thing. I would like to know what you guys think. It dosent quite feel finished to me BUT Im afraid to overdo it. cause im not quite sure what it needs. If anything

You need to add a horizontal line to the background so the figure doesn't come arcoss as floating in mid-air.

To me the eyes look like holes.
