Ok, here's the deal. I've always enjoyed comic art, and that's what I'm best at, but lately, I've been getting bored with it. Having that in mind, I've decided to move onto real life. So far I've had good luck, until the face. It scares me, and I always leave it until last, because I can never make it look the way I want it. What my actual question is, is can someone point me in the direction of a good tutorial, or make one, on how to draw the nose, eyes, and mouth? There has to be a better way than using line. Thanks.

Sean

Hi, i'm also new to drawing and stuff... i started with it about 3 months ago and this books really helped me out with it:
Mr. Andrew Loomis amazing books by fineart.sk (http://www.fineart.sk/anat.htm)

The 2 books to begin with are drawing the heads and hands (http://www.gameartworks.com/LoomisBooks/heads/page_01.htm) and figure drawing for all its worth (http://www.fineart.sk/page_01.htm) .

Fun with a pencil is also a book for beginners, but it's more for children and about comic drawing...

just practice a lot and you'll also notice that your comic drawings will improve a lot... you can go here (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1141) to post your daily life drawings and get feedback on them.
or go here (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=8635#post8635) for daily self portraits

cheers and good luck drawing as many things as possible :chug:

Hi Sean,

thereīs a standard book I always recommend for drawing faces - and that helped me really resolve some mysteries of expression ;) - "Facial Expression" by Gary Faigin http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0823016285/qid%3D1034159136/sr%3D11-1/ref%3Dsr%5F11%5F1/104-1167304-0327936

With about 25 $ itīs really worth the price - Iīve payed more, when I bought mine.
