It is about time I start up a sketchbook. Hopefully it will force me to draw even more and get that practice in. I don' have much on me now, but once I get my hands on a scanner I'll post some of my life drawing and other sketches.

hey welcome to CA, your figure studies look nice so far and the silhouette gesture thumbnails are nice and loose as well. i think right now you should fix the perspective on the first and last illustrations, they are a little off in a few areas. keep at it man.

A WIP for armor made for dolphins. Was bored at home and decided to design mech for my friend's creatures. The dolphin is a photo I snatched to show how they fit in it. Its suited for a spinner.

really great stuff. loving your lineart. your figure studies and enviros are also very well done. i would suggest on your faces that you work a bit more on the structure and proportions of the face a bit more. and push your darks/lights a bit more in your paintings it will help the contrast more and bring out the overall image more as well. great stuff keep it up.

journeyman10: Thanks for the comment. I will continue to experiment with color. I think it will always elude me though and eludes most of us lol.

Thesadpencil: Thanks. Yeah some people found the naked men a bit disturbing. Its done quite innocently I assure you. I wanted to practice what was going on under the cloth. And yes I have been paying closer attention to my values. Still practicing that control over light and dark and playing with it.

your drawings and your studies are amazing, i might have a little tip for you colour stuff which is something i noticed maybe take the less is more attitude. i don't know whether its on purpose but i think you maybe need to minimise your pallette a little.

hey im glad you took my crit onboard your latest show really good restraint as well as rythm especially the last one specifically the colour of the thrusters and the sky. thats one of those tricks which keeps an object, vehicle or creature relevant to its environment visually. so i commend them colourwise in my opinion flawless.

I've been working hard at learning Maya and haven't been able to hit the tablet and paint as much recently. Here are just a few of the paintings I've been able to squeeze in during the time.
One of them is a picture of a loved one as a mermaid and the other is a quick cityscape.

The origin of this picture is odd. I took a quiz one of my friends had created that makes an anthro by randomization. I get a random animal, accessories, colored fur, scales, spots, stripes, ext. Whatever.
The description I ended up with was so wacky and out there that I had to take on the challenge of trying to make it look good.

.... His name is Jimmy...he is a level 7 time mage and is into steam punk apparently....

"Art of a Cookie"? I giggled quite hard at your sketchbook title. You have a lot of lovely work here! I really love your life drawings; but as for your digital stuff, try and tighten it up a little more, even for quick pieces. But try to keep it loose - if that makes any sense at all.

And perhaps deepen the contrast a bit more; play with color saturation. Have fun with it!

An update!
