Use the lightsources in the scene to descibe the shape of the objects, not only how brightly lit they are.
Stay away from anything that resembles a digital airbrush tool. Experiment with your own or find some good brushes to download.
For this one i would recomend that you find some good reference photos of grass, nightskies, the moon and general armour design. Use references and try again.
Its a fairly cool idea, but it needs more work.

Olsen--you wouldn't be so kind as to elaborate a bit more on places you might go to procure good custom painting brushes for photoshop? googling yields a frustrating array of unrelated hits.

Olsen - can you elaborate on, "Stay away from anything that resembles a digital aribrush tool." Is that because the lack of hard edges on the dragon? Please elaborate. Thanks!
