This is my first ever piece of work for a actual games company, they asked for a buggy concept for a fun/wacky buggy game. This is also my first ever vehical concept design which is mainly why I chose to take up this little project, so that I could gain experience at. Otherwise I wouldn't of done it as drawing buggys are not really my type of thing! Any crit , good or bad, highly appreaciated!

when i was in design class the prevailing critique of a sketch was often simply: 'push it.' meaning that what you've got is good, but it's only part of the way there--you need to keep pushing the concept 'til it screams. then you can back off a little--but that's the whole point of doing many, many iterations on a given idea, to see where you can take it.
i think it's what you need to think about with this project--the idea is sound and pretty straight forward... but it needs some pushing.
if this is a design for a 'fun/wacky' game, that damn it, that buggy better be hella fun and/or wacky :) . at the moment, it straddles somewhere between moderate naturalism and cartoony in presentation, and you need to push it. look at how cartoon vehicles are drawn, how elements of caricature are utilized--successful games that have had a similar design theme.
upon immediate appraisal i'd suggest bigger, chunkier wheels, more of a stylized/bulbous body design, and something a bit more outrageous in place of the fan, preferably bigger... say, an outboard motor or something. like i said.. it's there, you just need to get it to come out.

Why do cars all ways have to have wheels? Why cant they use jello instead!?!? How about some sort of supped up super spot light coming out of the back? I know how about squirt guns coming out of the side panels. Hell, you should take the hood off and have it hamster powered! You could even take it one step further and have the car take on it's own personality and body parts. Mouth, eyes, clothing, hair etc. I could go on for ever with this.. but I'm going to let you take your imagination for a joy ride.

My best friend and I use to ask ourselves, "What if someone was so cheap that he replaced broken parts of a car with common household objects?" Ahhh... memories. Thanks.

Yeah, I was just very dubious about going overboard as from what I was told it was a fun buggy game but the buggys still had to look like buggys. I will tell you what responce I get when I recieve it.

I like the hamster powered idea!, If I could be wacky as hell I would of replaced one of the main wheels for a big hamster wheel/ball with running hamster inside...allthough I am not sure the 3d guys would enjoy doing that

Don't limit your self to what others can do. Present your idea and make sure you've supportive reason behind your idea. If I found a game that had hamster wheels instead of conventional wheels on a car, I would buy it up in a sec.

P.S. If I'm rambling on let me know. It's 4:30am and it's time for bed. Night all.
