My name is Aaron and I am a Graphics Communications student at LTC. This is one of a few digital paintings that I have been working on. I know the face needs a little work, but the rest turned out ok. Watcha think????

This is yet another learning experience here, I am using a crow Chief as the theme. Any input, tips, or even a place where I can get lesson on Digital Painting would be a big help!!!!

OK, my crits:
The images are too blury, looks like a lot of blending was done and not enough detail work. But your proportions are right on.....just work on getting that detail back in, a few more sharp lines and less blending around the edges......
One thing I remember from a good art teacher: "Paint what you see.."
Your art form is really good, just keep developing and don't stop painting and drawing. :teeth:

as far as training goes, check out www..com they have a lot of DVDs for sale. they tend to be on the expensive side but are really very helpful and informational. I've got two and they have taught me alot and given me plenty to think about.
I think that your digital images look better than the pencil and ink images that you showed. I'm guessing that all of your digi's are done with reference and that your pencil ones are not. If that's the case then I really suggest that you do some studies and life drawings to get better at anatomy.
Keep it up bro.

Photoshop is great fun and allows endless experiment without consequences (I wish you could CTRL-Z paper!), but if you aren't careful, there's a particular kind of softness to PS drawings that's really unpleasant. In fact, the more PS work I see on CA, the more allergic I'm getting to that squishy, gauzy effect.
Yeah, the masters can make it work, but...duh. That's why they call them masters :)
Your drawings and anatomy and proportions and stuff are fine. I think I'd either concentrate on traditional media for a while, or really work at getting some sharp, hard lines into your digital work.
Did I explain that okay?
