Sorry if these are a bit too scruffy, but I just had other stuff to do and ended up rushing. :nohope:

The chicken concept is only three-quarters done, but I don't know if I'll have more time to work on it before the deadline. The sketches are referenced from life (I'd posted the first one in my SB but I guess it needs to be put here too) and a photograph.

People had mentioned a general lack of variety in my work so I tried to do something a bit different for the chicken piece, as far as style and subject matter go.

i couldnt find where to edit my post so i had to do a new one for the studies. I worked on some leg studies (from hogarth), what i think are one of my weaknesses, others are quickies of my cat and a back study from dc guide to pencilling comics which is fine on the left hand side but the right is very iffy :\

Okay I apologize but I couldn't finish my chicken project. I've submitted what I've done so far - the angles are messy and I know it looks off, but I'll fix it another time for my own personal satisfaction.
And also, my two observational drawings.

here are my observation sketches and my chicken image.
First sketch well actually sketches are basicly very quick sketches of my cat, these are 5-10 second max sketches, very quick very basic, no study of shadow, only your basic shape study. These are actually brilliant for doing warm up sketches before you actualy start painting or drawing seriously.
2nd is my mouse, done with only a x-soft pastel brush in painter.
3rd and final image, my chicken image, done again in painter, using the x-soft pastel brush, soft charcoal brush, and salt eraser brush customed to work on any layer other than the watercolour layers. Reasone for black and white, basicly becouse its a technique i've gone to realy like lately, also it an excelent way to study values, something that has already been mention in the first round.

Running late, but I guess it's still the 22nd somewhere on the planet, so here are a few observational sketches. My problem areas are proportion and tone, typicly anatomy so that's where I've started. All are me, or parts thereof, I really need to join a life class. One of my real problems with skin is picking the right 3 or four tones to start with, and I don't allways get it right, maybe I need to set up a palette. Expect more anatomy, but probably photo refs as the alternatives are a little limited right now.

Well, appears as if I'm not the only one who's going to be posting late...maybe too late, but I'll post them anyway.

heres my observational s, self portraits, tonal done with default round brush then colour layer on top, the observationals are part of my "problem studies" on how some people said i should make my painting smoother by using a big round brush which is what i used, the chicken image was just tonal because im still bad at colour.

Well, here are mine. Did an observation of my room, a few of my hands (which came out better than I thought they would), and my chicken. Don't ask about the chicken. I have no idea what's going on either :P.

Necromancer elf shaman raising santa.

I had wanted to continue work on it, but I was using liquid inks(corel 9) and reached some sort of critical threshhold of computing power where I was unable to touch it without strange pixelization effects.

wanted to try a little experiment, started first in photoshop to get the plack line with the trace option, then used various textured brushes in photoshop.

Hey there everyone! This one had to have the color red in it so here is my coloring attempt, and of course, it came out looking flat. I used a reference for the skull from a book called Animal Anatomy for Artists: The Elements of Form by Eliot Goldfinger that I just got. Hope you like it.

Here is my contribution. This took me about a half hour of just sketching because I have NO IDEA what I am doing with anatomy yet =) So I just pumped this out before I went on vacation.
