didn't know if this was an appropriate place to post this but:
I am working on a short vid for my demo reel. I have an idea to show the life of a concept- from sketch to model. here is my first draft. there is much more in works to be developed around this idea.
you might need a pretty chunky 'puter to view it.

Cool idea, for the reel.
You should try having your cuts match up to the beat of your background music.

your transitions are cool, and, of course, the art is awesome. what are you using for your edit? While I am not much of a 2d artist, I do have a lot of experience in video and 3d. One idea that pops into my head is including a wireframe render into the stream, which adds to the whole "concept to model" process you are going for.
Are you going to move forward with the animation of your 3d model?
funny how I was thinking on how your compositing shot finished out just as I was clicking on your link.

thanx Afro: This one was composed in Combustion2. i then compressed it in AfterEffects for the web.
The wire frame is a great idea, it did seem to have too much of a jump from the sketch to the model.
I am going to be using the same process for the Mutt model too, but with that one I might have it running throughout the whole process ather than just a pose. I am not going to focus too much on my animations, but I think the running scene would show a little of that area.
mc_delroy: as far as sketching, I sketch more now than I ever have in my life. between FFG and this forum and the school forum, I am constantly in a state of doodling. Whereas, before i decided to go to school, i would draw maybe one pic a week.
thanx,
Mitch

`mcotie,
that looks great, thanks for sharing. i like the blood splat transitions. did you try different blood splat zooms? it might make it cooler. i like the time-lapse thing, very nice.
