Hello people! Listen, I have a crazy hope that the CA atelier will take me (...) To study there next year. I don’t know if I have the necessary level to go, but the my current personal situation compels me to try. If anyone knows what I want to ask, I’d really appreciate your help.

The information on the atelier’s website says: “All portfolios must be submitted in digital format. Send us a link, do not email jpegs” Cool, I get it, but is it OK to send a deviantart site, or a ConceptArt forum post? I’m afraid to look unprofessional, but right now I just don’t have enough artistic self-esteem to create and maintain my own site :P

“10-15 pieces of your best artwork, send only your best stuff both digital and traditional media” this could be a big trouble for me, is traditional art an obligatory subject?

“Include at least a few images that were done from life and some examples of your concept work (characters, creatures, enviroments and tech) .
Again, are the 4 types of concept art an obligatory subject?

... I feel a little stupid asking this last thing, sorry:P but still I prefer to confirm it before making a huge mistake.

Well, that’s it, thank you very much for all those who read this

Just use a blog for your work with a nice template or download a gallery and put it online.
Like this for example.

Ok well the atelier is way beyond my skill level right now, so you can take this advice with a grain of salt...

But no matter what job or program you're applying for, it's a good idea to include as many types of artwork as you can, and tailor your portfolio to what the judges requested. It shows that you're a well-rounded artist who listens to instructions and is willing to put in the time to learn and do work properly.

Instead of asking, "do I have to do this?" a better question might be, "will I be able to do this by the deadline, and do it well enough to impress the judges, get admitted to this program and survive the workload?" Then do it. Even if you don't get in, you'll have learned a lot, and be farther along the road to succeeding next time or elsewhere.

(*sigh*) um... I had to ask... I mean, I ask both for the organization of my time (I want to send it all before december) as for my own insecurity, I'm a disaster with Industrial Design/concept!
Well, I better tie myself to the wacom!! Thank you very much :D

Yea... sorry I couldn't give more specific advice, hopefully someone who knows more than me can help out. The only thing I can say for sure - you definitely wanna include some traditional drawings too, I checked out the Atelier course list and at least half of them involve drawing and painting from life. Good luck!
