Been workin on the actual concept for quite some time. Finally merged the cool parts of some sketches into one badass pic.
Ive been workin on this several hours today, theres a wip thread in the wip section, if you wanna check out the linework:)
I never actually colored linework with PS before, but it ended up working quite well, crit me heavily.

Pretty cool! I like it. I think that the engine should be longer, should advance up in to the fin area - maybe to just above the big "5"? That would give the overall design more mass, I think make it look even faster/more powerful.

Good Job! :chug:

hey solid, thanks for the input:) I actually tried that, what you said, once upon a time, on a different racer... works good. but .. it just doesnt give the same streamlined design..

I bet I can combine them some way though.

tomorrow perhaps, now, sleep.

Dudes, whats up with the lame amount of feedback? Come on, atleast give me some negative crits? I never understood how over 200 people can look at something, and just walk off without saying anything?

this goes for MANY posts. not just this one.

Guess I was just hoping for more of a response. either negative or positive. Anything!

I find it finished, but I still want hints on how to make my upcoming designs even better...

please guys.

I got your feedback right here. :firedevil:

Interesting design frist off.
The vehicle itself looks like a mix of pod-racer and wipeout XL hover racer. For that inginuity, i salute you.

The idea.
The "Helios" implying "sun" is used fantastically by depicting the son rays on the front two spoilers. My only concern relating to the use of the Helios name would be the lack of research? Maybe incorporating more than just the sun rays on the front from the mythology of Helios. Then again, maybe not.

Technical issues.
The racer looks great. It looks like it's built for speed, and blinding speed at that. The only gripe that i have with the car is the back end where the engine is. The rest of the racer, like i said, looks fantastic. Although, there seems to be a distinct lack of detail toward the engine. Also the shapes that wrap around the middle of the engine; their rounded perspective seems a bit off, actually they look too flat.
There is also a problem towards the back of the car on the chassy. There is something about the very back end that really bothers me. It looks like there is a slight persepctive problem with the little lip of the car under the yellow stripe in the far back. That also appears flat.

Well, that's that. Sorry but i had to get nitpicky just to find something wrong with the damned thing. Very nice, very nice indeed.

hey thanks nucleardan:) now thats exactly the type of feedback I was lookin for!

Im glad someone thought of the helios connection, and youre right, it has absolutely no research behind it. The name Kinda popped up when I realized I was doing sunrays on the front. To your critique, I say only this: I thought the same thoughts:) And thats a good thing. Even esier to pinpoint the stuff that needs to be polished.

thanks again.
