I am a humble CA member that is striving to progress to one day reach a professional level. I am hopefully going to be accepted to a Design and Illustration diploma course for next year so lately I have been focused on improving my artistic skills. My sketchbook will serve as a project that will help me keep on task as well as receive valuable criticism from the wealth of CA members knowledge, guidance, encourangement and expertise.

Here are a bunch of sketches I whipped up last night, some are from last couple of weeks. Didn't realise that guarana is basically just caffeine and couldn't sleep, haha. Anyway turned out good cos I got some practice. Comments encouraged.
I plan to render the gypsy sorta girl tonight, the idea is that she lures wealthy merchants with her dancing then takes control of them using here puppet idol thing, then kills them and takes their loot. I should maybe make her look more mischeivious.

Hey here's what I've been doing over the past month. These are all purely for personal practice. I used refs for 2 of these peices, the jessica alba one and the space environment which is based on a tutorial by "Sparth" from the d'artiste concept art book.

Please give feedback on what you like or don't like please, I'm learning :)

Hey peeps. I've been really dedicated this last week. Yesterday I visited the art gallery and did some sketches while I was there, was really inspiring, I highly recomend it. The people at the gallery were really nice too and were giving my encouraging comments while I was sketching. The first 2 and last sketches are from the gallery. The rest are non-refed doodads and some colour practices. Enjoy! I start my Illustration Diploma course in 2 days, can't wait to do heaps of Life drawing.

You got some cool stuff in here, i especially like the thumbnail figures. It looks like you need to work on anatomy more, though. Keep up the work!

Hey CamSyko!
Congratulations for starting the Design and Illustration program!
If you're into character design, life drawing sessions are key, and hopefully you'll get plenty of them at school.

Keep up the good work!
