compare the position of the eye with that of the ear. think it sits too low. normally its on the same level as the upper edge of the ear.
oh, i forgot... welcome!
post some more to let the people here gain a deeper insight of your abilites.

Hi there, welcome to CA, your stuff is actually pretty good, I really like the bird on the two pages. You should post in other people's SBs if you want to get comments though until you get 5 stars... then you'll get a ton of fanboys posting nonstop :)

Keep up the posting, there's some great stuff here. So you're expecting to do art school in 2008? You working up the portfolio? Give us a look at some stuff. More. :)

no reference, i was so pissed off that day... we drove all the way to norwich, only to discover that the quality of art was aweful, so i drew as a statement against it... but yeah, always loved drawing birds.

boy you did good. im really sorry i didnt keep my part of the deal.....once the art deadline is out of the way we can REALLY get down to business.
nice one by the way- as far as "futuristic woman arctic explorer" goes, i dont think you made the femininity of the character obvious enough. it looks decidely male, androgynous at best. im really digging the execution though- its beautifully done and i love the red fade into the background

I like your concepts, and i like the bird. I would suggest picking up the anatomy book. Start drawing from life getting a 3d sence of things. Draw from photos and try to knock down proportions while you drawing. Start gaining skills with a pencil. Then transfer what you learn to other medium like painting.

i really should, the only reason theres less pencil work up here is because im too bobe idle to use the scanner, other than that... right away!

Hey, I like your line style alot very adaptable to diffrent kinds of images, one thing I want to say is think about using different tones other than that piercing jet black for text, varying the tone in typography can make a hell of a difference especially with alot of negative white space near the text.
I feel bad about giving crit when I havent uploaded any of my own work :/
