Hi people,
I have a bit of a problem when sketching where i not only go too dark but also make 2 or 3 efforts at getting my line correct this becomes a massive problem when for instance i have all my construction lines (basic form shapes) planes and anatomy and then want to push it further with clothing and there planes and before i even get to tone I have a big mass of lines that make it hard to see.

I assumed I would get better at making my marks once i knew the form better and i feel like i know my form of what i am drawing pretty well lately ofcourse with still major room for improvement but I still have the same problem with multiple lines makes it look amateurish, I am practicing Villpu's line to tone drawing method that helps but i still miss my mark quite often, maybe its just a matter of waiting till i get more accuracy? any ideas or exercises i could do to improve?

Cheers
Dan

some people use light boxes and draw over their original lines and build up from there. Some people use different colored pencils to better differentiate forms (construction lines, clothes, ect).

And there's always sketching very lightly and erasing with a kneadable eraser (very lightly) and drawing over that. Hope that helps.
