Hey all, i'm a big lurker in here, so i thought i should start a sketchbook, to exist a little bit on this community...
I'm 19 and art student.
I'll try to update each time i'm back home and have internet access.
Here is a selection of things i did in the last 2 or 3 weeks in my spare time.

Critics and comments welcome.

Hey kevzip, welcome to the sketchbook section.

Some really nice ideas and sketches you have here, great potential. I like your pencils, but in almost all of your work here I've noticed you tend to shy away from working on feet much. Something to work on perhaps?

The apple and the phone are really impressive. Could you post some older work?

Good luck.

Welcome, friend.

I like your work, the pencils are cool, and your values in the black and white piece are coming along nicely. I notice some perspective issues tho, and I think some of the colored pieces would work a lot better if they weren't as saturated and colorful as they are currently. Looking forward to see more of your work!

Thanks, those feedbacks are really appreciated.

You are both totally right.

Smokey186 Thanks, i'll work on feet. But i don't think i'll post older works because they are sucking even more...

Jabo Thanks, ok i'll work on that too. I think my saturated colors are due to that i'm using too much overlaying ... and that sucks i think i'll stop using it until i can do something correct without it.

Weetbix , Stampedie ( ;) ) , joaKimArt Thanks.

Here are a few new things i've been doing lately.

Does anyone know how to calibrate a LCD screen? Looks likes values are strange... i'm seeing black where it is dark gray...

Hi kevzip,

I think it's a real solid start to a sketchbook. Your line drawings and digital pieces are pretty great looking. One thing though, work a little more on your hands. some of them come off as too bulky or have very long fingers.

This one for instance-http://www.conceptart.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=294517&stc=1&d=1202053218

The fingers on the hand in the front are just too long. They come off looking very irregular or alien looking. Other then that the painting is awesome. There might be some proportional problems but the hands jumped out at me the most.

Anyway, hope that helps. Keep up the great work!

Thanks Trashy! In fact i've never thought of that fingers proportion before, that helps a lot, i ve tried to pay attention to that in the last ones, hope it's looks a bit better.

Hi there!

What a lovely start to your first ever sketchbook on here. I must say first of all that by far my favourite offerings from you so far are you life studies of random objects. They are wonderful, especially the tape dipenser and the apple. You've got a good eye for shadow, texture and light. The enviros could do with further improvement, some are much stronger than others.

Your character sketches seem the weakest skill when I look at your body of work collectively. You have some great costume ideas though, it's your anatomy skills that are letting you down slightly and a lot of your characters have simular facial features I've noticed, perhaps try mixing it up a bit? But if you keep drawing from life to practice I'm sure you'll learn really fast as your life drawing is so strong! It was an enjoyable experience browsing this sketchbook so I'm looking forward to seeing more from you. :)
