Hey Caution, nice start! Love your understanding of tone. It's a pretty cool habit you have of spreading your images on two pages and making it work! Scarf girl is just beautiful.

Only crits I can think of would be to move towards more realistic faces (it would add to the beauty of your characters) and aside from that you seem to draw super long necks but I'll guess that's a stylization.

Looking forward to seeing more of your work! Later.

hey eon,
thanks i think my tone work could use some more practice though. i only spread across the two pages because i don't like carrying around big sketchbooks in my bag. the scarf girl is supposed to be the angel of death, i'd like to up the standard from that one i think.
i've been trying to draw more realistic people but always seem to draw in a slightly manga type of way. so i guess the exaggeration of the neck is something that just happens. thanks for the crit :)

http://www.conceptart.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=231472&stc=1&d=1194084065 absolutely great! love your abstract works... the people you draw could get a bit more "loose" and dynamic, they still look abit stiff, if you know what i mean.

just stick to it

stone: thanks, i'm actually designing a mate's tattoo for him in that similar style for his arm. my character work does look very stiff i totally agree, that's why i'm posting my sketchbook on here to improve and learn from people. you can look at something so much that you don't see it anymore. so hopefully this will be like a kick up the butt! :)

daveneale: likewise, your sketchbook is pretty interesting too! there's alot of dynamic work on it. i think i lack that alot.. want to change! thanks for stopping by! :)

ruffy: thanks, i think the detailing took longer than it should, but i'm pleased with the results, though i would change alot with hindsight.

Wow, there are some cool exaggerations in your figures and drawings, I'm interested to see more, especially the way you treat patterns, very intricate and detailed.
