Hi I'm really interested in pursuing some sort of web design/computer graphics career and was wondering what sort of major this best falls under? Graphic Design? Thanks!

Well, I'm a designer that focuses on web work. I would suggest education in design, focusing on multimedia. There is a bit of a gray area in the field because some people are designers who can program while others are programmers who can design (there is a difference). Since you are on CA I would say you are the former. Hence I would find a program that's more design centric, learn coding like html/xhtml, css, and a little Flash. Don't focus on web only, learn print too. Consider a minor in some fine art too as that knowledge is helpful in any kind of design.
Most universities have some kind of computer graphic design major, sometimes it gets thrown in under marketing or journalism if it's not really a liberal arts school.
Hope this was helpful.

Thanks proj235! I've been looking at some Communications Design majors and starting to look at multimedia, some of the programs seem to be strictly animation stuff though. Never though about looking under marketing and journalism, will have to pay attention to that. Thanks again! :^^:
