i am brainstorming the creature design for my friends bands cd cover, and this is what im working on right now. he wanted kind of a biomechanical zombie type guy with a lot of tubes...but i didnt wanna do the cliche looking zombie. i will actually be changing the head because he wants it to look like his father, so i just threw this on there so it wouldnt be blank. any suggestions would be great!! i am open to any ideas or crits, thanks everyone.

It's lacking some presence to be an album cover. I would think the zombie would be attacking me or at least be in pain or something dramatic. It's kind of hard to get an idea of what he's doing. His cables take up a large area of the draw space too.

Don't get me wrong, it's a cool concept - just think the framing and pose doesn't work for what I think an album cover would be.

What if he was tearing himself free from these cables in pain. But framed pretty closeup so he's covers the whole image.

I think that the bio-mech/tube aspect realy detracts from the excellent zombie.
I'd like to see how it looks without the tubes entirely. Maby a nice off-center comp with just something slimy pulled behind to draw the eye. Hope that made sense.

I agree with morbidhumor, except whatever thing is being pulled could be attached with tubes...

Love the new head.

Very SPAWN-like creation.

The concept is good, keep adding to it. The tenticle on the left of the screen, seperate from the zombie ,creates a seperate element to the zombie, shifting focus from your zombie creature. I would advise you as well to continue the theme of contrast in your picture. Did you do that in ink? If so that is very well done by the way. Furthermore, the staging isn't very effective for the massiviness of your zombie. Think of what pose and angle is best to capture this. Finally, I don't know if I'm right on this or anything else but, stick to one value method, whether it is linear (hatching) or tonal (gradient).

Great concept, I wish I would have thought of it.

This looks awesome! More hawkprey inspired stuff? Really like the details in the head(s) and the feet. Being a graphic designer, I am very interested in what the final cd cover will look like.

Impressive work!
