My wacom just shed it's rubber skin...

So I got an Intuos 9x12 a few months back and have only started using it a lot in the last week. While I was drawing, I noticed that the rubber mat on the tablet (ie. the rubber drawing surface) was starting to come off, and I can pretty much just take the whole thing off now.

Is it supposed to be glued to the Wacom? Maybe they are supposed to be removable so that you can replace the surface? Is this normal? :\

Intuos3 I guess? They're glued to the tablet, but only on the top side. You can order a new cover foil for about 10 bucks. I need one too, as the cover on my Wacom is scratched by the pen and mouse.

Anyways, i remember panicking when that thing happened to me the first time. :D But yeah, it is supposed to be only glued at the top. It should stay in place tho, so if it wobbles around when you paint something is wrong.

That happend to me too, but i think is normal and it wont move around when i paint.

If it's the same as on my Wacom, that plastic sheet is for putting a piece of paper under it in order to be able to "trace" a physical sketch. The plastic keeps the paper in place.
