anyone have any input on the more vibrant watercolor brands on the market?
I was told that koi were good, and most of the true Japanese brands. I also found Dr. Ph. Martin's Hydrus Fine Art Watercolor. I'm limited on money, so i cant just buy a bunch of colors and test them out. Any info would be welcome...

My favorites are the Schmincke Aquarelle brand. They have a good range of colors and are heavily pigmented. M. Graham, Holbein or Maimeri are also quite good. A nice thing about Da Vinci brand is you get a decent paint at a larger size than the others (37ml.)

i agree with the schmincke, it's chock full of pigment. but if you want vibrant, the key is just to clean your brushes well.

cool, Ill look into Schmincke Aquarelle
brush cleaning isn't a problem, I'm pretty particular about clean brushes...

I have been working with inks and markers but need to switch to something more lightfast, but I LOVE how bright my inks are, so I was looking for something with a similar brilliance to it.
