The Green Tortoise is REALLY close, but there might not be a large CA group there. The others are a little over a Mile. the Green Tortoise is also almost across the street from the Museum, if I recall.

I have a question though.

In montreal, it cost me over a hundred bucks for the "reservation" for the (6 person) room, which I never saw on the website. We didn't find that charge out til we were AT THE HOSTEL and the receptionist told us we owed it. That's not including the actual stay cost btw- ONLY for reserving it. The couple in front of us had the exact same misunderstanding, but weren't with the workshop. Luckily my travel buddies were willing to cover for me. I just remembered this and wondered if anyone else had this problem with that hostel back then. I want to avoid that this time around, it was definitely not made clear to me that I owed 270 something dollars instead 135 or so.

Come to think of it, the reservation was 149 dollars and the stay itself was around 120 something.. 126 maybe? Either way the reservation was more than the stay itself :<

2 hotel rooms would be cheaper than a 6 person room. Also I can say this much...staying in the hotels we negotiated with will keep you all together and most people regret not staying with the groups as so much crazy stuff is going on even after the party...art art and more art...and a ton of fun too. no one wants to go walk two miles in the middle of the night to some other hotel where no one else is staying...well almost no one. the agoraphobics might be glad for that. :)

I wanted to sleep there. If I could get a room with other CAers, that'd rock! Still, I'm in it for the cheap nightly fees and the super closeness (my grandparents are super paranoid about this kind of thing and while I'll go with or without their support, it'd save so much grief and money) I'll probably end up showing late on the third and staying 'til early on the eighth, but we'll see what happens depending on the air tickets I get.

EDIT: I've been looking at their website, and it looks like green tortoise just charges for a bed, rather than a room, but people have been screwed over before, so better call ahead.

If you're interested in staying where the CA'ers are, you might wanna check out Days Inn, or the Warwick. Most peeps are heading to those places because they're cheaper than the Hostel, but not as close. The hostel is $25/per person, so an 8 person room would be $200/night, versus Days Inn which is $65/night, (with 4 person room) would be $16.25/per person. Not trying to change you're mind, just thought I'd throw it out out there. :) I added ya to the list!

We are not recommending that anyone use those hostels in Seattle after finding them to be difficult to deal with. They wouldn't even give the CA'ers a break even if we filled it up and sold it out. The hotels gave us great deals.

Warwick Seattle guest rooms are designed to accommodate no more than
four individuals in one room with two double beds. We do not offer
accommodations with two "single beds". The only other choices are a king
bedded room or a king bedded room with sofa sleeper, which is designed to
hold no more than three individuals.

Hey, I don't speak french all that well, but being forced to take it throughout public school has given me at least a cursory understanding of spoken french. (And from my time in paris, i know that i understand more when i hear it more).

Haha, one of my roommates here is french, though he's from New Brunswick. :) He says it confuses him when he speaks in french here, though, because he's been here long enough that he is starting to think in english, so speaking in french puts him back and english gets harder to follow. XD
