I was looking for some advice on taking a college level course in storyboarding in New York City. I saw some Continuing Ed courses related to storyboarding for animation at SVA. But I'm looking more for storyboarding classes geared more towards advertising/film/television.
If anyone has any recommendations, please let me know. Thanks!

I wish I could help you out here, Buffalo.

The class description of what you're looking for is exactly what I teach. The only bad thing is I'm not teaching in New York City. I teach an Intro to Storyboard class and an advanced storyboard class (Advertising & Cinematic Storyboards) at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit. All of the assignments are based upon actual paying jobs that I've worked upon in the last 20 years of being in the biz. Each assignment has its real life parameters and they're actually discussed in class; sometimes the art directors get nutty, the production company can't afford an effect, and even how big the conference room is for the presentation of the boards are even discussed.

I've tried to bring as much real life relevance as I could when it came to developing this class- because ultimately when you graduate from the school, you've got to be ready to compete with seasoned pros.

If it means a hill of beans to you, I've actually had a handful of my students end up in California working for these folks...
