San Fransisco. I asked the same question a couple months ago. For some reason, despite playing around with the options in advanced search,
I can only find posts from the last month or so. If the stupid thing would work, I'd show you some really cool threads. The student's came out with some awesome portfolio work after working there a couple months. Even when the search would work I couldn't find anyone's successful entry. They only accepted eighteen people for the program (there were originally 10 spots, the guys at Massive Black are such softies) and they won't accept new students 'til next year (or was it the year after that?) or until someone drops out.

I hope that was helpful. Elwell had to show up for me to get any. Good luck.

There is more than one atelier; there might be one close to your area. It won't be the conceptart.org atelier, but you can still learn basic drawing and painting skills at one. If you're willing to spend a little more money, Sheridan has a great illustration program. I understand that Max The Mutt has a concept art program as well.

hi albatross, i have been looking into atelier's myself. I've looked at CA's own atelier program, LAAFA (http://www.laafa.org) and some others. Art Renewal Center has a list of all the ateliers programs in the country, so maybe there is one near you. I wish there was one in NC, but I reckon I'll have to decide to move to either NYC or LA.

Has anyone visited The Barnstone Studios in Pennsylvania? I visited his website, and watched his videos. Watch his videos, they are very good.

Max the Mutt Animation School in Toronto offers a 4 year diploma program in Concept Art. Check it out. The website is www.maxthemutt.com. We worked hard to develop a program that would give the students both the fine art and concept training they need. We are the only program in Canada offering this depth of training. Our standards are high. Our instructors are all first rate working professionals. Our class sizes are small. Tuition is affordable. if you have any questions, call Van Olson, Admissions Director, at 1-877-486-MUTT or email admissions@maxthemutt.com.
