I just noticed that I will be taking some classes at school that teach that stuff. Should I still buy a book on it?

I think the book is a good buy. I looked through mine so much it's starting to fall apart. He not only teaches you how to draw from observing the model but gives constrution techniques that are useful to drawing a figure without a model.
