Hi,
I had an idea for a teen challenge topic that would be specific for us teens only and I thought that I'd share:
A Hero for My Generation
This sketch is an imaginative and artistic creation of a hero who struggles with meets or overcomes the challenges that our generation faces. The content of the sketch will frame the hero within the context of the challenge. You must indicate the context selectively, pointing out what you believe to be the most vivid engaging and meaningful aspects and elements of the heroic challenge context. Remember this character sketch should expose specific challenges that are unique to your generation. If you make the challenge more specific and relevant to your generation, you will naturally narrow the context of the challenge making it easier for you, the artist, to come up with ideas. You have to be selective about which heroic traits to emphasize. IE unless your hero calls for it we don't need to see a ton of super-sized Hercules types. Most likely you will focus on developing one, for instance "loyalty". Choose a trait that is either lacking in your generation or is necessary for your generation to emulate. You must honestly feel that the trait is valuable for you and your peers. There may be other traits that relate to the hero's struggle and success. You should include these; however, make sure you take the time to sincerely develop what you feel are the most important and necessary traits for your hero.
We are all Generation Y or the Millennial Generation (born 1982-now). This is an interesting write up about it: http://www.mondaymemo.net/010702feature.htm
Some positive qualities of our generation:
Technologically savvy
Motivated to do well in school
Well connected with friends and the community
Some negative qualities:
Selfish
Spoiled
Lazy
This would be fun…
