That's insane. So, what happens if they rebuild a brain?

Gives a whole new meaning to the term "Body Shoppe."
Parts is parts.
Reminds me a lot of Larry Niven's "Jigsaw Man."

[Edit]Wait... I've got an HP printer...:needle:

The thing that spooked me the most is the "thing starts beating". Can you imagine that IF science keeps on grinding the way it is now (given we don't fall into another dark ages blitz), what we'll be able to do then? omfg

Jess! I totally saw that video last night and was equally amazed. I can't believe that this sort of advancement isn't more widely recognized! Imagine the possibilities.. oh, you need a liver, just wait a few hours and i'll go ahead print one for you.

I so did not just say that...

Damn, that is pretty amazing. I wonder if in the future they will have drive-through places, where you can order back up body parts. That would be weird.
I guarantee you Aubrey de Grey (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aubrey_de_Grey), is rolling around on the fucking floor in excitement.
Do You Want to Live Forever? - Aubrey de Grey (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3329065877451441972&q=do+you+want+to+live+forever&total=534&start=0&num=10&so=0&type=search&plindex=0)
According to Aubrey, if you can regrow the body parts of someone living, there is a way to replace them, to keep them alive for thousands of years. Pretty cool video.

if you're interested in this sort of thing you should also check out Radio Lab's bi-monthly podcast. there's an episode titled "Mortality" that relates directly to this vid.

Oh, yeah... The biotech revolution is going to be like rock n roll and the rennaissance all wrapped in one.
It sounds like sci-fi but every day there's some new breakthrough, from sirtuin activators to de-differentiating adult stem cells to enzymes that dissolve scar tissue to regrowing nerve cells, anti-oxidants that dissolve amyloid plaque, the cultivation of tendon transplants outside the body... and on and on.
Science is a major cause of hope.

This reminds me of the book "A Gift From Earth" by Larry Niven.
Crazy stuff about trying to live for inordinate amounts of time in that book.
