well wacom releases the cintiq 12ux soon.. personally I'd of liked it if it were 4:3 ratio... why wide screen.. i wouldn't' bother watchin or playing games on it.

its probally widescreen because palettes take up space on the side so they give you more room to work.

This is great

But, if this one cost aprox 1000 (I dont know the price, Only I suppose)
Is not better a tablet pc?

Depends entirely on personal preference.

Here's my take on it:

Cintiq 12ux:
- 1024 pressure levels
- Angle detection
- Tool ID
- All the other nifty Cintiq/Intuos3 features I can't remember right now
- Not portable since it not only needs a datacable running to your pc, but also one to a powersupply
- 12" WXGA

TabletPC
- 256-512 pressure levels depending on model
- no angle detection
- Portable, it's like having a clipboard that runs Photoshop and PainterIX, totally awesome
- Fully functional Laptop
- screen sizes vary between 12-14" (12" is the most common one)
- resolution varies between XGA, WXGA and SXGA+ depending on the model

if you look hard enought there are a few table pc's with 512 levels, namely the newer fujitsu ST series... and i've also heard similar of the modbooks.

I know about those but I always tend to exclude them because I'm not a big fan of the slate form factor and 512pl are not that common yet.

according to http://gemssty.com/ this will cost about $1700US. That's a lot cheaper than the 21ux but still costs like 5 intuos 6x8's.. man I would get one if they cost 800 or something.

$1700 :x Wow thats too much for me (Here the mony is pesos and 4 pesos = 1 dolar) , to spend in only a wacom

Personaly i really prefer in that case spend those 1700 on a tablet pc :D

Thanks for reply

Hey guys just to show what 256 lvls of pressure can do in photoshop on my fujitsu lifebook T4215.

i also have the pressure slider at 75% hardness so i press a lil harder for more pressure. nothings wrong with it.

BTW. i heard that the newer fujitsus' will have 512 lvls.

Frankly i think 256 and 512 is enough.

I'm seriously thinking of buying this one...
How much battery time does it give you (fully charged)?

1700 is still beter then 3000. This might be better for someone who already has a good computer opposed to someone who is looking to buy a new computer with this.

If i had the money i'd buy this. I've always wanted a cintiq. perhaps it will become more economical soon.

with my wireless net on about 1 and a half hours - 2 with it off.. a good 3 - 3 and a half. i usually draw with it plugged in. cept when on the sofa watching tv :P

it's all good. I'm thinking of buying a modular bay battery for double the time.

i went back to my pc and tried out my 9x12 wacom the other day. first time in 5 months. Wowzah. the tablet pc (or cintiq for the matter) is like 2/3rds faster. i can get stuff done in 3 hours opposed to an entire night on the 9x12 pad.

i configured the second pen switch to ''pop-up'' when i click it a pop up window shows shortcuts that i use frequently, like: flip, select all layers, link layers, undo and more.

hm.. this cintiq looks tight.. Anyone know if it has faster response time than its big brother ?

Not sure if I would like to sacrifice 9 inches for faster response time anyways.. but it would be cool to know.. soon.
