This was made into a mould for creating foam latex prostetics. I was hoping to get it on 'andromeda' but they did not want any new creatures this season.
I think I will wear it for halloween.
I will update this thread with pictures of the application if I do decide to apply it to myself.

Very cool man. I like the design. I've thought about getting into making prosthetics and masks, but not sure where to start. I'm really into making busts and statues at the moment. Do you have more stuff you've done that I can see? I love seeing other sculptor's work. :chug:

hey this is pretty neat. have you thought about what kind of coloring this creature would have? concept sketches prior to sculpting would be interesting to see. Also, what would his ears look like? If you've got more, I'd like to see them, too!

Interesting design. One crit I have is that some of the facial texture could use another pass. I'm sure it's too late by now, but if you have time to refine it, you might want to dig up some similar reference. Like for the forehead, the wrinkles remind me of an elephant or rhino's nose. You could push it further with some ref. What you have now has a somewhat hand-tooled look and maybe a tighter pass with real world reference would eliminate that. Also keep in mind that wrinkles and textures are affected by use, skin moving over bone, gravity, getting pulled by underlying muscles etc. Some of your textures and wrinkles appear a bit unmotivated and even though it's an alien, paying a little more attention the the physical laws of earth makes for a more believable character.
You should check out my friend Jordu Schells website. He's a master and he's worked on a number of big movies and does some unique and inspiring work. His stuff is wild, but has a cool believable quality to it:

Keep it up, man; you're part of a dying breed.

smellybug; Yeah. That is very good advice. I did get a bit lazy with the textures to be honest. This is my first and so far only piece. I am a concept artist at a SFX studio and my boss was teaching me some practical stuff.
He did redo the texture for me. It looked a 100% better after he got through with it. It looked a lot more organic and real, where mine looked like it was just scratched up. Ha ha. Next one I will redeem myself I hope :)
Wow. Just glancing at that website your friends stuff looked awesome! I will definitely have a more through look later. Thanks for the link.
bwkeough; I have it sitting on my shelf, based out, waiting for me to paint it. I have not decided what colour to do it with yet and real work has me swamped. I hope to paint it before Halloween though. The ears will just be my own. I was thinking about covering my ears with a bald-cap and painting a couple small ear holes, that's about it. Like a turtle kinda deal. But I will probably just do a quick and dirty application and throw a hoodie on. ha!
Scotty. No I don't. I have done a fair bit of mould making and such but not much sculpting. I do want to get into sculpting more though.
As soon as I get my face back I will do another sculpt. Its not too hard to make the mask really. You just have to be careful you don't get undercuts, where it will be difficult, if not impossible to remove the negative from the mould without breaking it.
