Halloween is comming up, and in Detroit that can only mean one thing: DEVIL'S NIGHT.

For those of you who don't know, Devil's Night is an old tradition in Detroit, and all of South East Michigan. When it started out it was basically just a bunch of kids running around playing small pranks on their neighbors. But by the early 1980's it had evolved into an annual attempt to basically burn down what was left of the city of Detroit.

In 1986 alone there were well over 400 fires set throughout the city. The reasons for this explosion of violence had to do with the extreme economic crisis of the 70's, 80's and 90's.

Since 1990 Devil's night has returned back to its origional form, now it is just a bunch of suburban kids tp-ing their neighbor's houses.

I was just wondering if there were any other interesting local traditions you guys could share.
