I just finished this after about six attempts. I still have trouble with lips and noses. I know that lips wrap around the face, but I just don't see it when I look at myself in the mirror.

It's artists' crayon, kind of like a pastel ;-)

Nice Vlad, you did a good job there. Nice use of comp colors. I think though that the hatching style of the shirt is a little too harsh and distracts too much.

See ya tomorrow

Maybe you could punch up your shadows and highlights for more contrast.

I agree about the contrast. But I used both crayon and a crayon-clay blend pencil, and now I can't use the darker crayon over the lighter pencil!

Hmmm....I would get rid of those lights in the Background. See what that does.

The lights in the background are what is killing your image in my opinion, and they are also too vivid. You can have semi muted colors up front, but yours arent dark enough to show depth that your looking for. You do need to increase the contrast in your face, dont be scared, you can always do another. I like it and your persistance shall pay off. Do some studies of the nose and the mouth at various angles and you will see yourself improving. Great work so far

One thing that stood out immediately to me was that the eyes aren't symmetrical. Take another look at how you've drawn your eyes, try flipping the image if you haven't already.
