I've had this problem in photoshop (7) before, I don't know why it happens (as usual) but it's happened before a couple times in the past, I fixed it before but it's been so long since it's happened that I don't remember what I did.

It's a problem with the eraser and brush colors. If I use the eye dropper/sampler to get a color, it goes straight to the eraser and not the brush I'm using, resulting in no switch in color, resulting in anger. I'm going fucking nuts trying to figure this out, I keep pressing the switch arrows at the corner of the two but it still doesn't work. How do I fix this? Why does it happen?

It seems like whenever I want to really paint something, I have to battle with the programs. >:{

PS does some random stuff that noone can quite explain.. like all the shortkeys going haywire, losing pressure.. and many other weird things.. have you tried resetting? deleting ur preference files? and reinstall?

Go to the color palette (on the right, docked with swatches, NOT the bottom of the toolbar).
Click on the foreground color.
Problem solved.
