hey
im currently working on a Wacom Graphire 3 tablet for all my digital work, but after doing a bit of reading on the Intuos3 tablet i figured that would be a great upgrade because of the resolution, increased pressure sensetivity, paper/felt/various nibs feel.
however theres alot of different sizez, so wich to choose?
im thinking the A4 since its bigger than my current tablet, but A5 could also do i guess... whats the pros and cons of bigger tablets versus smaller tablets?
for info i could say that:
i work at home 99,9 % of the time
i use painter and photoshop.
any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My brand new Intuos3 actually just arrived the day before yesterday, I'd upgraded from my very old, [ yet very dear ] graphire3 4x5, held together with tape & whose power cord would randomly turn off the power. I, too, decided I needed an upgrade.
I thought I'd get an intuos3 from work...I work at Best Buy so automatically I thought: employee discount! So I bought an intuos3 4x6, took it home, & was absolutely STUNNED by the comparison of the intuos versus the graphire. Mind you, graphires are not bad at all, & They definitely are excellent starter tablets...But, as I worked on the intuos for a while, I realized that having such a small Intuos really isn't worth it, so I took it back to the store, got my money back, & bought a 6x11 from Amazon [ Special edition ] Mind you I went from a $150 intuos 4x6 to a $410 6x11...but the money was definitely worth it.
My point is, really, a smaller 4x6 intuos, imho, is a bit of a waste. You definitely want to at least get the 6x8. You just have more room to work on the tablet itself instead of being confined to a tiny little square where your hand cramps up. On a small tablet, you move your fingers where as on a larger tablet you mostly move your entire hand or wrists. If that makes sense...
If you do however, choose to get a big tablet, make sure you have the space for it! I really had no idea just how big the tablet was going to be, and it's larger then my keyboard [ near 17" wide ]
Ah...hope that helped & you can pick apart the rambling.~

Some Best Buys have the small graphire4s on clearance for around $60, brand new. [ since the new, cordless models are coming out ] A pretty good buy when you think on it, I'm personally going to pick one up for my younger sister as her first tablet.~
