I badly need reference pictures of 80's clothing and hairstyles. Everything else (cars, music, sayings) is pretty much taken care of, but the clothing and hair is a tough one. I've searched the net over and over and can't find a whole lot. Did find a few things, but not enough.
If anybody has a link or two or knows of other means to get photos, It would be greatly appreciated if you could send the info my way. Also, if anybody knows of any 80's movies that really showcase fads, styles, and lingo, let me know.
Thank you in advance.

"Return of the Living Dead", that's pretty saturated in everything 80's.. pluss if you get the dvd you get to see William Stout's concept art

Hi Chromo,
I myself am a relict of the 80´s, born 66 ... Maybe try to get some Miami Vice series, they are showing a lot of fashion of the mid 80´s. Furthermore I think a good one for 80´s fashion victims are the old movies with Madonna ("Who´s that girl", "Desperately seeking Susan"). It depends a bit what subculture you want to show, in comparison to today the borders between the different groups have been much stronger than today ... there are masses of videoclips with real strange fashion I remember (Tears for fears, Prince, old Michael and Janet Jackson, old Kylie Minogue, Bananarama ... whatever).
Hope this could help a bit

I haven't played the game, but every advertisement I've seen for Grand Theft Auto: Vice City screams 80's. Also, VH1 repeats "I Love The 80's" about 7000 times a day. Not that I watch VH1, I just flipped across it looking for something manly...like football or wrestling...

Wow...Thanks everyone. Trust me 80's photo reference is so hard to find on the net. There's a few things, but not much. Theres plenty of facts and info, but few images.
I actually went to the library the other day and they had an archive of old magazines from the 80's...I was in heaven.
The biggest things are: hair, clothing, cars, and popular products. Pictures of this stuff would be priceless to me.
--Sammy: Thanks, I'll definitely check that out.
--Fipse: You're right on, I just thought of that one the other day. Miami Vice is right up our alley for the book we're doing. Only problem is, I don't know if it's even on TV anymore.
I'll have to look into music video clips and those Madonna movies. Thank you much.
--Spok: Don't you worry, we've got big plans for the Dolorean. And thanks for the complement.
--Davi: No...actually it never occured to me. I figured I'd just have everyone else do the work for me. :D
Does anybody know of a (free) program that would let me save a still shot of a movie clip. I'd like to build a nice library of 80's reference.
I'm almost ready to roll here. I appreciate the help from all of you. Thank you very, very much.

Of 80's films and TV shows. Like 16 Candles, Miami Vice, A-Team, Can't Buy Me Love, Back To The Future, Breakin, Warriors, North Shore (my fav hehe), or 80's era animated stuff, like Robotech or Thunder Cats . . . . etc
Another way is watch VH1, when they show I Love The 80's and record it on your VCR.
Usually DVD's have like a multimedia section with pictures, and/ or stills.
If you got uber software skillz or know someone who has, you can get DVD or VHS (via TV Tuner and DVD ripping software) into computer files, for your viewing convenience.
