Hey all.

I was recently working on another wip here, a big grand cityscape, but I gave up, I realised it was too big of a project for me at this stage. So I figured I'd do some cheap little rooms to practice my lighting skills... as you can see... I aint got any..

PLEASE gimme some hints! I dont care about perspective, usually im perspectiveking, but this pic was made in less than an hour only to try out shading.

Tell me what YOU think.

:chug: Cheers to ya all.

The area around the candles isn’t light enough in my opinion
By the way aren’t you making it harder for your self by skipping the perspective, I would have thought it was essential for doing shading and lighting accurately?

theres no need for the shading to be geometrically correct - thats not what im after... I just want the atmosphere to work properly... oh well, Ill fix the candles:)

I think you may have the lighting on the chairs backwards. The chair in the background actually sits enough to the side of the fireplace that, while it would get some hot lighting, it shouldnt get hit so hard with the light. So the chair more directly in front of the fire should get a bit more hot lighting. Although its further away. Make sense? Worse case is that they should recieve light equally, but that makes for an underresting comp. I agree with the candle bit too.
