Nikki's Sketchbook

Hey there, lovely artists of CA. My name is Nikki (or Xaxona, if you will) and I decided that I should make a Sketchbook thread in the hopes that it will help me motivate and help me improve. Right now, I am looking to improve my overall drawing skill, character design, layout design and illustration.

So, here area few of my works. The first one was a pencil layout of an illustration that was supposed to be done in a similar fashion as the tide pool illustrations found in National Geographic. The Second one is a random digital work I did to test out my new version of painter and some new brushes. And the final image is a rough sketch design idea of the the two characters from a children's book I am illustrating.

Late late last night, I painted a mini pumpkin with watercolour. I'm just learning to use watercolour and I find it quite a pain in my arse, to be perfectly honest. I'd like to use it more often though, since it is nice to look at when done properly.
