Hi, i'm not sure if this post should go here but it seemed like the right place to put it.

I just wondered if anybody knew of any art workshops of sorts in the South east of the UK?

I want to learn how to draw properly, and i want to be able to go to life drawing classes etc. but i am having trouble finding anywhere close by that does anything.

I went to college in Eastbourne to study art and design but we were taught nothing about drawing/colour etc. in the 2 years that i was there. So i tried to learn how to draw and colour by myself, but i find i can only get so far without any kind of guidance.

I'm trying to look for places that actually teach how to draw, rather than what happened at college where they just sat us infront of a model for a total of 4 days and just said, draw... No guidance or advice given even when it was asked for.

Does anybody have any suggestions of places that would teach me how to draw?

Or am i hoping for too much? lol

Hey, Kitteh. I was just doing a similar search. I'm moving to the area early next year. Everybody needs life drawing. Like, forever.

I turned up several classes, but a word of advice: when scoping out web sites, check the galleries before you sign up. So far, the artists I've seen teaching classes in the area are awful. Seriously. Don't ever take drawing advice from somebody who sucks :)

I'm looking for something slightly different: the sort of thing where people band together and pay for a room and a model but without an instructor. Anyway, good luck!

To be honest i don't think i will be able to find what i am looking for now unless i went to university or something like that.

So the next best thing is what you are looking for... Just general life drawing, no instructor.. Just turn up, draw and go home.
