Is it cancelled? That is so sad. This was to be my first thunderdome. It was the first one to inspire me.
Who are we kidding if we want to be concept artists but can't do art that is in someone elses world? Thats what it is all about.

anyhow. I am very, very sad.

Okay, I know I'm not the only one out there who is starving for some Thunderdome competition.

People keep saying they wish there was a new one going on.....

Well, unless a new challenge is immenently forthcoming from a moderator, I want to call out a challenge to all of the past victors.

You all have enjoyed the splendors as Thunderdome champions for too long.....

ITS TIME FOR SOME NEW CHALLENGERS TO STEP UP!


The THEME:

THUNDERDOME WARRIORS OF ANCIENT CIVILIZATIONS


The RULES:

- This challenge is directed to all of the past champions of the dome. EVERYONE is encouraged to participate!!!! The question is who has what it takes to overthrow the likes of Wes9000, McNallyism, Prometheus, and others?

- Your character is a legendary bad ass, tough, smart and blood-thirsty enough to beat all the odds and survive in the Thunderdome against thousands of foes for three millenia. Your character is thus the true Thunderdome champion of all HISTORY, as he or she is still a feared contender today in its post-apocalyptic state.

- The warrior can be male or female. Human or non-human, but must be independant (they can wipe their own ass), mortal, and have at least the intelligence of a human.

- The character must have originally come from an Ancient Civilization, but he or she does not need to show the weak signs of aging. As long as they survive in the Thunderdome, they don't decline.

-The characters can be adapted to the present post-apocalyptic state, they can still possess technology, but the design must be clearly influenced by Ancient Civilizations (ex: Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece, ect...) Lets just say anything before the Middle Ages for a reference point.

-No dragons. No magic.


SUBMISSION DEADLINE: FRIDAY OCTOBER 31.....HALLOWEEN! 12:00 AM EST

- Entrees must be full color illustrations emphasising the character design.


THE JUDGING AND THE PRIZE(s) ARE TO BE DETERMINED AT A LATER DATE........

- But one thing is for sure though.... winner will recieve the FAME and HONOR that goes to a Thunderdome Champion.

I love this tdome idea... It involves character design!! F*CK YEAH!

I hope Manley looks at this tdome topic and agrees that it kicks ass and makes it official.

this is also great for those concept artists that want to have more goodies to put into their portfolio... It might be a good idea (atleast I think it is) to have to post rough sketches and stuff leading to the final character design and illustration... making it an all out concept design contest, and judging based on that of the process... but most of the points go towards the final painted piece (obviously).

sorry if I'm rambling... I just woke up, but I'm excited about this topic.

and taking those icons and elaborating on them
