Hi everyone
Just wanted to see if anyone has done any of the elearning program at the Savannah College of Art and Design. It seems like they have the Sequential Art BA program pretty much covered with it and wondering if its a viable alternative to attending (which doesn't seem like it will be feasible for me) or if i should not even consider it as an option..

Hi there, I've never actually taken an e-learning class but I'm a sophmore at SCAD in game design. A lot of my friends are in sequential so I know a little about that program too. I would say just doing e-learning probably isn't such a great idea. First of all I believe the tuition is the same for on campus and online, so while you would be saving on your living costs you'll be missing out on a lot of important personal contact with your teachers and other students. An important aspect of going to SCAD or any art school is that you get to meet people who have industry experience and can help you make connections to get you a job. I think that's especially important in Sequential since you really need someone to give you a chance, you won't just be handed work.
If you can't attend for sure I say save yourself some money and try something else, maybe do illustration at a state school. However, if you just want to save some cash by doing it online I'd look into actually attending. It's not hard to get a scholarship and if you live off campus you'll save butt loads on housing and meal plan costs. Hope some of that helps!
