Man this is awsome. Just one thing, and I'm probably wrong... are her eyes too far appart?

Awesome piece. The atmosphere is perfect.
There is something about the eyes... not sure what it is.. maybe it's the face.. dunno..

Been a fan of yours for a while Niv and it seems that it will continue. The only gripe i have is with the face. It's kinda odd, but hell, maybe you did it on purpose. Regardless, a fine job.

Her face is very flat in compairison to the rest of the image. I dont think it does this picture justice. Also the sword looks awkword the way she is holding it. I think if you fixed those two things you will have an awsome piece, but if you dont fixed 'em, its still pretty awsome!

This is really nice. I'm undecided about the face, but the sword hand comes across as awkward. Great colours and the detailing on the skirt and the rocks is fantastic.
Is this a "Painter for 20%, Photoshop for the rest" style pic? I noticed some impasto?

i like the eyes the way they are. makes her look crazy that way. maybe you'll want to do some changes in lighting on her face or changes in skin tone, but that is purely your chose on this one.
great job nivbed

Everybody already covered anything I found except one thing. The sails on the ship stand out as conspicuous. What I mean is, there are flaming pieces of driftwood, presumably from the ship. The ship is engulfed in flame with a huge smoke cloud. I would get rid of some of the sails char a few more and leave very little left but charred masts jutting up through the flame and smoke.
Thats all.
The atmosphere is great.

hi i think i may be late to this thread but if you are looking for crits i would say
you havent highlighted her cheeks enough to show the bone structure
and her eyes are more symbols used than 3 dimensional objects it seems, i think the colour of the eye is not the large problem but rather the dark lines which surround them...if you look at real eye lashes the bottom eye lashe stops around the middle of the eye i think you were tring to represent eye liner but even that obeys the same rules of lighting that everthing else does ... i think eye liner would have an oily reflective quality to it
i would also add some highlights on her hair
and i would make her arms reflect the background-moreso as the surface of her arm became parrallel wih the viewers eye
i think the hand holdinthe sword reads as too small
the eye brows seem very unnatural because there is no transition between few hairs and many hairs a not a hair on her eye lashes have gone a stray
comments-
great music and dormant was exactly how i see the world its beautiful once you appreciate the hideous every thing becomes gorgeous and an inspiration
i pretty much see you and i in the same boat intrigued by lighting but niether one of us have extremely complicated drawings in terms of geometry
by the way i love your rendering ability i hope you reply:D
the dress is brilliant

Some amazing colors, very realistic looking. Two things however that are bugging me about this piece. One is that her eyes (unless she is a mutant) are definatly too far apart. This is a mistake I make alot so it makes it easy to recognize it. Also, and this may just be me here, The scale of the ship makes it look far, far away, but I don't see enough water volume to make it look like the depth is there. I know its foggy, and some may be obscured, but it seems to me there should appear to be more depth there. I also agree that the hands look unfinished. Still great work though.
