wow, that is really impressive. Her back and hair are so simply yet perfectly handled, excellent control. If I had to crit anything I would say the left-most hand is a little fudgy but I wouldn't honestly change a thing, it's all great :)

Very cool, reminds me a bit of El Coro's style.
Did you use a ref for it?

THis piece needs to be put in the Best of CA for ever!
Rope, I saw the title and i thought, this sounds stupid, but I looked and I could not have been more blown away! It looks like its a photo-menip its so good! And the stylized hair!
And the Color! OMG!
There is not one thing I dont love about this picture. Beautiful. Masterful. Inspiring.

me like lots...especially the way you combined realistic body and face with stylized hair....and it all works well together. honestly can't say anything bad about this one. the hands are beautiful and the bedding texture is saweet!

wow, that is really incredible stuff.
dunno if you want crits (should i even dare?)
i LOVE pj harvey and the inspiration is cool but i'm not so sure about including the text..
also composition wise the focal point (head) seems too centered. i feel like there needs to be space above or above and right of the head...
the other elements, the actual painting and figure and everything i can't find fault with :)
oh wait a friend (FIGURE DRAWING MASTER JULIE) noticed something... and i agree i guess. the elbow seems odd. if you used reference it is probably true to the ref but even so it looks pinched and unnatural.
arg.. must stop talking...
good job!

Whoaw ... nothing more to say ... Love how you mix the bedcloth with the waterfeeling of the hair - donīt know if I make sense but I like this very much ...

I visited your site yesterday, and it amazes me, rope, how well you handle all the different aspects of photo painting and design and combine it all into these great, stylized images. Iwant more!!:D

   Woaw !! I'm just amazed by all the positive replies. I must admit that the illo didn't take me too much time, I was just relaxing with it in fact. That's why I feel somewhat surprised that you all seem to like it so much. Well... COOL ! :D
I did use a reference for that one, it's obvious. My eye is not that photographic... not yet ;) ! Though I agree with the fact that the elbow seems a bit odd.
Thx again all, you simply made my day !

hey rope! this is one of my favorites from you to date, and i like everything you do. but this one raises the bar astronomically. you melded your photo collage and painting style wonderfully. this is a painting that i would want hanging on my wall, it just does something for me.
lovely, lovely, lovely!
