Anyone have thoughts on a scanner for 300$ or under?

Canon CanoScan 8600F. It get the nicer reviews so far.

Compatible with x64 platforms with that.

hmm, printers.. I had hate/love relations with Canon. They are good, but they are inkaholic whores. Epson are from my point of view the best for pro consuming.
